Art Contests/Shows

The objectives of the Ceopalna Institute are achieved through two primary events: Art Contests and Art Shows.

The Art Contests are localized, community focused, with the intent not only of encouraging more individuals to develop their artistic capacities, but also to encourage communities to consume art in a more approachable and consistent way.

  • The first art contests are scheduled for 2025.  This website will provide details, locations, and timing for the competitions.

  • If you feel your community would be a great location for an art contest, please email us and tell us why!

Making art more accessible and consumable to local audiences, achieved with immersive Art Shows.  Utilizing the visual, audio, literary, digital, and kinetic art contributed by local and regional artists through the art contests and specific commissions, immersive art shows are compiled.  This capillary process for creating and consuming art is vital for both helping communities create their own individual artistic identity as well as nourishing the communities and their members.

What mediums of art is the Ceopalna Institute supporting?

Creating art and consuming it is an essential element of living, of wanting to be alive.

We are asking you to create art that can be in every medium possible: painting, composing, poetry, sculpture, urban art, videos, drawing, stories, plays, songs, photography, etc.

Art that will be considered for the art contests has the following criteria:

  1. The art needs to be authentically from you.

  2. The art needs to have some reference to any element of The Art of Alone books; this can be a dialogue, a sentence or paragraph, a feeling the books elicited, an idea.

  3. The art cannot contain copyrighted elements unless submitted by the owner of the copyrighted material.

  4. The art should be appropriate for teenagers and above; difficult or challenging content is permissible but should be addressed in a subtle and tasteful manner.
